Office of Justice Programs:

OJP works in partnership with the justice community to identify the most pressing crime-related challenges confronting the justice system and to provide information, training, coordination, and innovative strategies and approaches for addressing these challenges. The OJP includes the Bureau of Justice Assistance, Bureau of Justice Statistics, Community Capacity Development Office, National Institute of Justice, Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, Office for the Victims of Crimes, Sex Offender Monitoring, Apprehending Registering and Tracking Office.


Crime Statistics:

Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI)

The FBI provides information on national, state and local crimes “reported” to law enforcement.


The Bureau of Justice Statistics
 

The BJS is the primary source for criminal statistics, including information on criminal victimization.

The Police Executive Research Forum

PERF is dedicated to improving policing and advancing professionalism through research and involvement in public policy debate

The International Association of Chiefs of Police

The IACP develops policing programs, provides research, training and publications to the police profession.

The National Sheriff’s Association

The NSA represents sheriffs, the office of sheriff, law enforcement and criminal justice professionals

The Police Foundation

The Police Foundation is dedicated to supporting innovation and improvement in policing through its research, technical

assistance, and communications programs.

National Criminal Justice Reference Service

The NCJRS offers justice and substance abuse information to support research, policy, and program development worldwide.

National Institute of Corrections

NIC provides training, technical assistance, information services, and policy/program development assistance to federal, state, and local corrections agencies. As well as fund cooperative program initiatives and provide leadership to influence correctional policies


The American Correctional Association


American Parole and Probation Association

APPA an international association who serves at the voice for probation and parole practitioners.


American Jail Association

The AJA is dedicated to providing training, networking, education and advocacy to jail facilities.

Re-entry Policy Council

A national nonprofit organization that serves and assist policymakers at the local, state, and federal levels from all branches of government with prisoner reentry.


Pew Public Safety Performance Project

The Pew Center on the States launched the Public Safety Performance Project to help states advance fiscally sound, data-driven policies and practices in sentencing and corrections that protect public safety, hold offenders accountable and control corrections costs

Community Corrections Marketing Strategies

CC Marketing Strategies was created to help community corrections agencies to build and improve relationships with the media, policymakers, community leaders and the public.


Courts:

National Center for State Courts

The NCSC is the authorative source for court services by offering research information, education and, consultations to state and local courts.


Victim Issues:


The National Organization for Victim Assistance

NOVA’s mission is to promote rights and services for victims of crime and crisis through national advocacy, trainings and conferences, publications and direct services to victims.


Office for Victims of Crime

OVC provides funding to state victim assistance and compensation programs and supports trainings designed to educate criminal justice and allied professionals regarding the rights and needs of crime victims.
